FINANCIAL AID FOR SPOUSES AND DEPENDENT CHILDREN
If you are a U.S. citizen and are a spouse or dependent child of someone serving in OR retired from the following services, you qualify for a Protect and Serve Grant – free
financial aid for courses and programs offered by Peirce College: the U.S. Military, Police,
Firefighter, EMT, or Corrections.
The Grant is a form of scholarship awarded to Protect and Serve personnel and
their dependents. These scholarships are tuition-based and not related to
grades.
Eligibility
Spouses and dependent children who apply for the Protect and Serve Grant must
provide the following proofs of relationship and ID.
Spouses

jointly filed current IRS income tax return
-
valid ID of spouse serving in the U.S. Military or
in a Police, Firefighters,
EMT, or Corrections service
Dependent Children
-
Internal Revenue Service definitions of legal dependant apply – provide a
current IRS income tax return identifying dependant children of Protect and
Serve personnel

valid ID of parent serving in the U.S. Military or
in a Police, Firefighters,
EMT, or Corrections service
Benefits of the Peirce Protect and Serve Grant
The Protect and Serve Grant can save the spouses and dependent children of
Protect and Serve personnel up to 25% on tuition fees at Peirce College - over
$10,000 on a bachelor’s degree.
